Bubble Blowout

Bubble Blowout

I stumbled across this picture after Shelby and I talked about the crazy amount of fun we had had at the foam party in Mexico. It’s extremely blurry but I think it captures the essence of our smiles and the rowdiness of that night. It was great except for all the creepy guys we reminisced about sneaking into the bubbles to escape! Definitely one of the best times I had in Mexico!

Shelbys Song ❤️

Shelbys Song ❤️

While visiting with Shelby one evening I asked her if she’d like to write a song, my friend Jenna  is a musician and offered to put something together for her. She immediately lite up and said yea I actually have some poems that we could use. We read through them together and I took the poems home to Jenna and by the next day she had put together a rough version of the song and Shelby and I were able to listen to it a few times together. The first time Shelby heard it her smile was bigger than I had seen in weeks, she was singing along and enjoying every word. The song is a mix of all the poems Shelby wrote in her own words, Jenna didn’t change any of the words and only added music and made it all flow together. Today we went to the recording studio and recorded Shelbys song.

If anyone would like to listen to it I would love to send you the file just text 613-206-2303 and I will send it over. It’s a very raw powerful song and expresses some of shelbys real feeling towards her journey with cancer, it’s beautiful and everything Shelby wanted it to be ❤️

Incredible fashion sense

Incredible fashion sense

  • Shelby was known to have an amazing sense of style. Every dress down day she would put together the cutest outfits. One of my house parties she came and totally rocked this look; black leggings and an adorable white blouse with black bird print. Simple but elegant.
Shelbys’ Spirit Animal….Llama

Shelbys’ Spirit Animal….Llama

Just in case you never heard Shelby complain about how her spirit animal is a Llama. I can hear her saying, ” no no, it couldn’t be a cute alpaca it has to be ugly Llama” and then quickly pull up a picture of how ugly Llama’s are and how cute Alpaca’s are.

It’s all about the icing….

Shelby and I became the Official XMas Gingerbread House team many years ago.   These photos are from 2011.  A sleepover, lots of laughing and 3 bags of sugar frosting later we would be the sticky but proud owners of the latest rendition of our candy houses.  And this year, to my surprise and delight, I got a text from Shelby “Can we make the gingerbread house tomorrow?”   With her list of candies on hand, and all the bowls, gingerbread and of course frosting we needed, she and I met in “Allen’s Room” and spent the afternoon together, pasting a house, and adding all the candy it would support.   It was the highlight of my Christmas this year.

little walks

I remember Shelby and I would love going for little walks down her road. We thought the scenery was really pretty, so I thought I’d capture that moment of her in front of the lake.
