Never Mess with the Queen

Never Mess with the Queen

This one time I wanted to post this funny pic of Shelby and I on my Instagram page but I thought maybe I should ask her first, just in case. Well thank the lord I did because she then responded back saying not to post it because she said she looked unattractive. I said she looked fine but she still said not to. I jokingly said what if I do, what are ya gonna do about? Not even 10 seconds later she said if I do that she’s going to do the same lol, then sent me this cluster of embarrassing pictures of me with the one of the best one liners I have ever seen and I knew that she had more where that came from. Moral of the story “When you aim for the Queen, you Better not Fucking Miss!”

Trips to Saunders Farm

Trips to Saunders Farm

Shelby and I would make plans to go Saunders farm almost every year and we would always have the best time. Step 1; Get through as many haunted houses as possible, and at least the Haunted Hay Ride. Step 2; HOT CHOCOLATE! Step 3; walk around and try to avoid all of the scary dressed up staff members. And lastly, Step 4; Sit and talk and laugh with each other by the fire pit until our beaver tails got too cold.

Arlo the puppy

Arlo the puppy

When I decided I was going to get a puppy Shelby was the first one I told. After I picked one out, we brainstormed names together and had a few to choose from. The owner of the puppy would send me updated pictures and  after showing Shelby the last updated picture a week before I was going to get him I asked her to pick his name. She chose Arlo and it suits him so well. The day I picked Arlo up we FaceTimed  “Aunt Shelby” and the two of them got to meet ❤️

Hospital Sleepover ❤️

Hospital Sleepover ❤️

On this particular day, I came up to the hospital for a little hospital slumber party.  This was on our walk around the unit, we saw this picture hanging on the wall so we took pictures in front of it imagining we were somewhere hot and sunny. The night was followed by junk food, movies and so many good conversations ❤️ one of the many memories I will hold onto forever, love you forever Shelby girl

Relay for Life 2019

Relay for Life 2019

The theme of this years relay was Harry Potter and the message “Be Bigger Than Cancer.” Shelby, while loving Harry Potter, also embodies that message with every aspect of her character so I thought this years theme was fitting.

My team decorated luminaries as Shelby’s Ass Kickers (although not everyone has the artistic talent that I do…..jk). In total, the University of Guelph raised $158,000 for cancer research, treatment and education this year. This breaks the all-time record for most amount of funds raised in Canadian relay for life history. If you zoom into the picture below you can see the cute cousin picture we took at Christmas. We love you Shelby   <3

Granny teaching her grandchildren how to be as hip/trendy as her

The previous two videos are video evidence of how Granny influences, teaches and loves her grandchildren! Both videos I captured were of our family trip to Montreal for the Queen concert. How fitting… OUR queen teaching us how to rock out at the Queen concert! I think Shelby out did Granny with her singing and dance skills but she did learn from the best afterall!
Xox love you Shelby,
Alyssa

Oak island Survivor games

Oak island Survivor games

A few summers ago Shelby came to oak island for a visit. I hadn’t seen her in so long it was great to catch up. But the highlight of the summer was when we got all the kids together and my dad set up the survivor games. The last game was the donut eating competition, where we had donuts hanging from the clothing line and we had to try to eat them without our hands. Shelby and everyone around were laughing so hard we could barely breathe, its a memory I will cherish forever.
